Cancelling your appointment
Please let us know if you are unable to make your appointment so that we can offer it to another patient. You can inform us by calling the The Rycote Practice, Thame Health Centre on 01844 261066 or visiting our website and clicking the cancel appointment icon at the bottom of the home page.
The more notice that you can give us the more chance that we have or re-using the appointment. Even if you are stuck in traffic and decide that you cannot make it, please let us know as it means that the GP or nurse does not delay their surgery waiting for you to arrive.
Did Not Attends
Last year, in 2013, over 2000 patients failed to attend for their appointment with a GP or a nurse and did not inform the practice. This is equivalent to one GP sitting and doing nothing one day each week, for each week of the year. Please help us reduce wastage by letting us know that you are unable to keep your appointment.
In the coming year we will be sending letters to patients to remind them of the problem that DNAs cause us and we will be taking action against persistent offenders.
During the course of their surgeries it is possible that our GPs might encounter particularly complex or challenging consultations and occasionally emergency home visits. When this happens we ensure that all other GPs are aware and you might be seen by another doctor to avoid your appointment being delayed further. Even then it is possible that significant delays can occur and we will do our best to inform you so that you have the option to rebook if you wish.
