Buckinghamshire Healthcare Trust (who own the car park at Thame Health Centre) are introducing charges on MONDAY 14TH OCTOBER. The Rycote Practice has negotiated that the first hour will remain free but you will need to pay after this. Please note that this decision had NOT been made by The Rycote Practice and we will receive no parking funds resulting from this decision.

The Rycote Practice will be closed from 1pm on Tuesday 15th October for essential staff training. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience.

Routine Appointments

calendarThese can be booked up to 6 weeks in advance. Depending on how many people have already booked, there may not be appointments with the doctor of your choice available for several days. We will always do our best to accommodate your requirements. If you do not mind which doctor you see, you are more likely to be seen sooner or on the day and time of your choice.

Please be aware that appointments are 10 minutes long and for one patient and one problem only. If you think you will need a longer appointment please ask the receptionist for a double appointment when booking. To make a routine appointment, please telephone the surgery on 01844 261066.

Urgent Appointments

We will always see you on the same day if there is an urgent problem. There are scheduled urgent appointments at fixed times throughout the morning and afternoon for people that need to be seen on the same day - it is vital that these appointments are used only if you have to be seen by a doctor on the same day.  Please help us to help you.  Please think twice before booking one of these appointments.  There is also the option of telephone advice (see below).

48 Hour Appointments

We also have appointments that are released 2 days in advance to offer patients the opportunity to be seen within the next two days when they want to be seen relatively swiftly but their condition does not need an urgent same day appointment.

Telephone Advice

A telephone call to a GP or nurse can often resolve an issue and save you a visit to the surgery.  Please call the receptionist, who will arrange for the doctor/nurse to call you back; this will usually be at the end of either morning or evening surgery.

Saturday Surgery

We are open on Saturday between 08:30 and 10:30. There are a few booked appointments available, followed by an emergencies-only clinic. Please phone us if you need to be seen. Repeat prescriptions, routine appointments, test results and other enquiries cannot be dealt with on a Saturday.

Extended Hours

The practice offers a limited number of routine appointments outside of normal surgery opening hours. The earliest appointments in the practice start at 07:30 on certain days. In addition, we are open until 19:15 on Mondays. There are also a small number of routine appointments available on a Saturday. Please telephone as you would for a routine appointment if you would like to book one of these. They may not be with the doctor of your choice, depending on the day you wish to book. We hope they will be of particular value to those who are working during the day.

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
